The Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR) , at Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland.Note: This position requires U.S. Citizenship.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.Responsibilities
Creates, tests, and provides data collection forms and case report forms and assesses feasibility of data systems to meet research data handling needs. Gathers and analyzes information from users needed for the development or modification of the data collection systems. Interacts with members of the scientific support branch, management staff, and others to accomplish the data collection and quality needs of the study.Works closely with data analysts, epidemiologists, and scientists to ensure data management systems appropriately capture the necessary study elements.Establishes procedures for the quality assurance of all study databases. Plans and formulates policies, objectives and strategies for delivering quality assurance services and allocating quality assurance resources to ensure data validity.Assists researchers in retrieving information from the databases and other multiple data sources. Provides research and management reports as requested.Prepares data management, resource, and sharing plans for IRB protocols, grant applications, including writing data de-identification plans for DHA and other data sharing agreement applications.Conducts data management activities through the entire data life cycle, from planning and preparation of databases through final data disposition (e.g., formal data destruction, de-identification for repository purposes).Provides ad hoc data sets for biostatisticians, scientists, epidemiologists, and clinical staff as required to ensure that research needs are being met.May include budgetary responsibility to include plan/forecast and prepare.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.Qualifications
Education and ExperienceBachelor's DegreeMinimum of 3-5 years experience requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of system analysis and design, SQL, data upload and statistical dataset creation for data analysis. Excellent attention to detail.Experience building, testing, and rolling out research study databases. Excellent communication skills.Experience with Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) or similar database systems.Experience preparing case report and data collection forms, data management and sharing plans, and data de-identification plans.Experience with another coding language (SAS, R, or Python) is a plus.The ability to obtain and maintain a T3 Secret Clearance.Physical CapabilitiesLifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in an office setting.CompensationThe annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$85,000.
