Position Summary

The Tax Personnel Recruiter reports directly to the HR Manager and works closely with the Tax Department’s hiring managers and partners. The primary focus of this role is to source, attract, screen, and recommend highly qualified tax professionals. This includes recruiting for roles such as tax preparers (from beginning level to manager level) and tax advisors.

Essential Functions / Key Deliverables

Daily:

  • Source, attract, and screen candidates for various tax roles and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with technical and experiential qualifications (e.g., CPA, EA, or tax preparation experience).
  • Communicate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and recommend qualified candidates.

Weekly:

  • Conduct initial interviews with prospective candidates, assessing both technical expertise and cultural fit.
  • Post job openings across appropriate platforms (LinkedIn, tax profession job boards, etc.) and actively engage with potential candidates.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience:
    Minimum of 2-3 years of experience recruiting tax professionals or working within the tax industry. This role is ideal for a retired CPA, seeking a part-time position, with expertise in sourcing and evaluating qualified tax professionals.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of tax positions and qualifications, including CPA, EA, and general tax preparation knowledge.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented and organized, ensuring a thorough and structured recruitment process.
    • Self-motivated and proactive, able to independently manage the recruitment lifecycle.
    • High energy, positive attitude, and adaptability to the fast-paced environment of the firm.
