Summary of Position:

The Executive Director has the overall responsibility for the complete operation of Travel Berkeley Springs (Morgan County CVB). This individual must work effectively with a wide variety of local, regional, and state elected officials, businesses, and agencies to promote Berkeley Springs and increase tourism and economic development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, membership development and relations, tourism partner relations, public relations, tourism marketing, regional and state tourism coordination, event management, management and oversight of all fiscal resources, upkeep of the visitor center, and staff and volunteer management.

This position works closely with and supports the Board of Directors to define priorities, meet regularly, build relationships with members and ensure accountability among all parties. This full-time position will require some flexibility in hours with possible evening, weekend, and travel hours. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Salary and Benefits:

Primary Responsibilities:

Promote Morgan County/Berkeley Springs as a visitor-friendly destination with the goal of growing tourism within the County.

Effectively communicate regularly with the board, local/regional/state tourism partners, and peers.

Work with the personnel committee, the marketing committee, and other committees of the board as needed or directed.

Oversee the development and implementation of a 10-year strategic plan.

Plan details, agenda, minutes, financials, and materials for board meetings.

Assist in recruitment, selection, and orientation of new board members.

Oversee maintenance of financial records with the Treasurer, Board of Directors, and independent accounting agency.

Develop annual budget and maintain fiscal responsibility for said budget.

Track, recommend, and apply for various grant opportunities to increase CVB revenue or support specific efforts.

Oversee all bill payments and financial responsibilities in a timely manner.

Prepare and present annual reports to County Commission and Town Council(s).

Maintain CVB Association Accreditation every 4 years.

Manage third-party vendors and products/services providers primarily including marketing and design agencies.

Maintain official documents and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, especially as they pertain to nonprofit (501-C6) organizations.

Develop and maintain relationships with state tourism representatives, other CVBs, and local government officials/agencies.

Communicate with CVB Association on lobbying and legislative issues related to tourism.

Attend meetings and conferences regarding the promotion, growth, and collaborative projects for Berkeley Springs and Morgan County.

Manage the CVB staff and performance.

Manage and oversee social media and website use/delivery.

Represent the CVB on various boards and at community events and activities as needed or directed.

Develop and manage CVB policies, processes, and procedures as needed or required.

Oversee and manage all marketing and advertising decisions.

Oversee design, writing, and publication of all brochures and advertising materials.

Answer phone and visitor center questions.

Oversee the tracking of our visitation and contacts daily.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
