Position Information: The UCR College Corps (Program) is part of the #CaliforniansForAll Governor's initiative which provides opportunities to approximately 150 UCR undergraduate students to support and learn from organizations working in three priority areas: K-12 Education, Climate Action and Food Insecurity. In coordination with the Executive Director of Educational and Community Outreach Programs, the College Corps Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the UCR College Corps Program. Responsibilities include the implementation of the program including the day-to-day operations, budgeting, and reporting; hiring, training, and supervising of staff; and managing the hiring, training, placement and daily management of approximately 150 program fellows each year. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the UCR College Corps Director builds relationships and works with partner sites in the community that may include non-profit and government agencies, community groups and local businesses to implement various aspects and activities of the College Corps Program. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations and submitting required reports and documentation. This position is grant funded. It is expected that the grant will run through July 2026 with a possibility of extension based on continued availability of funding.

The full salary range for the UCR College Corps Director position is $61,000 - $106,800 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $85,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Requirements: Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's Degree in related area. Preferred

Experience Requirements 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred

License Requirements Valid Drivers License. Required

Special Conditions Travel. Required Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours. Required

Minimum Requirements Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with clients and instructors. Strong knowledge of community education, technical education, and/or training and development programs. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective leadership skills, including directing and developing staff members. Effective skills to conduct needs assessment and program delivery. Ability to work under pressure in a variety of settings and to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Extensive knowledge and experience working with programs serving a diverse student population. Strong interpersonal skills, including presentation, communication, negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Advanced organizational and project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and early mornings, and to travel occasionally. Knowledge of financial management principles including developing and implementing a program's budget.

Generic Scope Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Key Responsibilities: Sets short term goals and priorities for subordinate professionals and support staff.

Plans and oversees day-to-day operations; evaluates outcomes, and ensures goals and objectives are met.

Administers performance requirements of subordinates and schedules.

Recruits, hires, and supervises professional, student, and/or temporary staff. Establishes performance standards, monitors performance, and conducts appraisals. Coaches, provides direction, and designs professional development plans.

Advises manager on changes and improvements to Community Education programs. Handles more complex issues raised by subordinates. Develops partnerships/networks with on- and off-campus partners such as K-12, non-profit and government agencies, higher education institutions, and community organizations, and keeps UCR College Corps partners abreast of program activities by various means including the facilitation of partner meetings. Develops and manages program component and activity budgets. Oversees the collection, analysis, and evaluation of member student and program data to document progress toward established goals and objectives. Develops and submits reports, as needed. Oversees development and delivery of classroom instruction, e-learning programs, and student registration. Oversees training needs assessments.
