Retail Pharmacist Travel Contract

RPH on the go islooking for a dedicated Retail Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment in Wrangell, Alaska. This position offers the opportunity to work in a small, close-knit community with the support of a well-staffed pharmacy team and manageable winter conditions.

Duties:

• Review prescriptions to ensure appropriateness of therapy, checking for contraindications, allergies, and drug interactions.
• Provide clinical consultation, clarify with prescribers as needed, and document clinical activities and interventions.
• Verify finished prescriptions, maintaining accuracy and timely delivery of pharmacy services.
• Counsel patients on their medications, including indications, usage, and expected outcomes, to ensure patient understanding.
• Conduct chart reviews, handle prescription refills, and provide drug therapy consultations for optimal patient care.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians, supporting and educating staff as needed.
• Participate in quality control, quality improvement, and other departmental responsibilities, including attending meetings and clinic-based activities.
• Engage in health promotion and preventative drug therapy initiatives.

Schedule/Shift:

• Days: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Licensure: Clear and active Pharmacist license in any U.S. state.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of outpatient or retail pharmacy experience.
