The Role

Korn Ferry has partnered with PruittHealth, to lead the search efforts for their Executive Director, at their Oaks at Whitaker Glen campus located in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of PruittHealth.

Purpose of the Position

The Executive Director of the upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), The Oaks at Whitaker Glen, will be at the forefront of PruittHealth’s mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of their senior residents.

The Oaks at Whitaker Glen, an active senior living community, is set to begin its $385.5 million, multi-phased expansion project that will combine upscale senior living, public-facing retail stores, and healthcare on one campus. The Executive Director will join PruittHealth in revolutionizing the senior living experience and be an integral part of their commitment to creating a seamless and superior health delivery system within the communities they serve.

As a CCRC, its residents will have access to assisted living, as well as healthcare services, such as skilled nursing, home health, therapy, and more, as their needs change over time. Upon completion, the community will feature 246 independent living units, ranging from studio size to three bedrooms, 82 assisted living apartments, and a new, 106-bed, state-of-the-art skilled nursing center, all within a sprawling, nearly 20-acre campus. Currently the campus has an existing skilled nursing community along with supportive care beds.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide visionary leadership to their distinguished CCRC, fostering a vibrant and fulfilling living environment for residents.

Collaborate closely with their management team to shape and execute the strategic direction of the community.

Exercise oversight of financial operations, meticulously managing budgets and resource allocation to ensure a prosperous and sustainable community.

Cultivate a culture of excellence, teamwork, and resident-centric care among their devoted staff.

Assure strict adherence to all regulatory and industry standards.

Cultivate enduring relationships with residents, families, and the local community.

Lead marketing and outreach initiatives to drive occupancy and maintain a healthy waiting list.

Innovate and implement progressive programs and services that cater to the evolving needs of their residents.

Continually evaluate and enhance the community's overall performance and resident satisfaction.

Foster a culture of resident engagement and empowerment.

Cultivate and motivate a dedicated, high-performing team.

Minimum Experience Required:

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an Executive Director or Administrator within a CCRC.

At least five (5) years' experience in a senior leadership role in the post-acute healthcare industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated executive leadership within the senior living or healthcare sector.

Experience in upscale community development, encompassing independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing.

Expertise in project management, especially in the redevelopment and renovation of retail services and investment living, commercial and residential real estate.

Proven track record of driving occupancy and enhancing community reputation.

Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

A deep commitment to fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and resident choice.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.

Master's Degree preferred.

Certification:

Licensed nursing home administrator preferred.
