Responsibilities
The Business Planning Manager (BPM) to APAC Regional Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for supporting APAC Regional CIO, managing 15 countries in Asia Pacific, to maintain the Bank's Technology capability and to promote Asia IT agenda and initiatives in the Bank. Provide support to Asia Pacific in the provisioning of technology capabilities on the ground and set up governance and structure for Asia Pacific CIO to effectively lead and manage the team. Monitor financials, budget, and headcount for APAC IT to align with Head Office (HO) and country agenda. Monitor and track the scorecard performance. Manage APAC IT events and facilities, aiming at driving innovation and culture/mindset change. This includes working with branch CIOs in Asia Pacific, Business (e.g. Transaction Banking), functions (e.g. HR, Finance) and APAC IT stakeholders. Strategy
Provide support for Asia Pacific Regional CIO to develop, implement, and track the technology strategy, including preparing the annual strategy paper. Keep abreast with the latest trends in the financial industry and MIZUHO initiatives on digitalization and innovation to support the development of strategy on digitalization and innovation. Plan strategically and implement the financial and efficiency deliverables including cost monitoring, budget, and business efficiency. Develop communication strategy to promote APAC IT to senior stakeholders, including HO CIO. Office Management
Build and maintain an efficient and lean CIO Office to effectively support APAC CIO. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, and ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles while having effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks. Employ, engage, and retain high-quality people. Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives. Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner. A minimum of 10 years' experience in accounting/banking/consultancy industry, with in-depth knowledge of banking operations, technology, services, and products. Self-motivated, quick starter with a high standard of work quality. Being energetic, passionate, creative, and flexible to lead and motivate to achieve collective goals. Strong change management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude, not shy away from deep dives if needed.
