Job Description
SUMMARY
The Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for working with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to provide compliance analysis of Illinois and federal laws related to credit union operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide compliance information to affiliated credit unions through verbal and written analyses of laws related to credit union operations, and prepare compliance materials (including memoranda, reference guides, blog entries, and newsletters), all in a manner that properly and effectively serves the interests of ICUL and its credit union members.
• Attend, present, and participate in seminars, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to compliance on matters affecting credit union operations.
• Receive ongoing education and training to stay current with law and regulation changes.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Familiarity with the following areas of Compliance and all applicable laws and regulations: lending, credit union policies and procedures, deposit accounts, Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws, advertising, and various other subject matter areas related to credit union operations
• Previous experience in a compliance position with a financial institution
• A relevant Compliance Certification (e.g. CUNA CUCE) or obtain one within 1 year of hire
• B.A./B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and writing skills
