Quality Assurance Coordinator

What we are looking for:
Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Quality Assurance Unit to ensure ongoing program contracts and grant compliance. The QA Coordinator is responsible for enhancing compliance monitoring tools and procedures, identifying risks, and recommending improvements. This position has contact with senior level management, C-suite staff, and funders.
Responsibilities:
Maintain ongoing monitoring of County, State and Federal regulations required by contracts.
Maintain compliance monitoring work tools and compliance procedures for programs, as well as for new contracts and grants.
Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely monthly and quarterly file review findings.
Monitor department work to develop more efficient procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Implement new procedures and file review features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Lead team in analyzing and identifying risks, issues and controls, as well as root cause analysis and issue recommendations.
Recruit, train and hire staff; handle personnel issues relating to staff performance and communication issues; and establish and monitor annual performance goals and objectives for staff.
Work with management to ensure that programs remain compliance ready and assist with preparation for external monitoring reviews.
Participate in program work groups to provide a cross-functional and regulation review of changes to work.
Perform other duties to support agency and department goals as assigned by the Compliance Manager and Chief Compliance Officer.
Education & Experience:
B.A. or B.S. degree in Business Management, Education, Public Administration, Child Development, Accounting or Finance.
Five or more years in internal audit, compliance, regulatory or government grant monitoring.
Three or more years of management and supervisory experience. Preferably three years of experience in a non-profit or governmental environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with relational database structures, and use of complex accounting and reporting software in a business environment.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of County, State and Federal contract requirements for child care programs, sampling methodologies and internal audit best practices, technology tools that can implement to improve efficiency and compliance, and knowledge of Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and custom applications.
Knowledge of agency policies and procedures, workflow and process maps, and organization structure.
Detailed oriented with the ability to detect errors, irregularities or misstatements, investigate problems, and seek appropriate clarification and resolution.
Excellent analytical ability and development skills.
Must have strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effect change.
Requires excellent customer relations skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and technical professionals.
