POSITION: Security Supervisor, Back of House

LOCATION: Brooklyn, NY

HOURS: The schedule for this position is based on Kings Theatre’s event and venue maintenance calendar, and requires flexibility for weekends and holidays, including late nights and early mornings.

COMPENSATION: $22 per hour

ABOUT THE POSITION

Kings Theatre, an ATG Entertainment venue, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented security guard to support the Security Manager and work closely with the venue’s third-party security team. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and thrive under pressure. This position requires strong communication skills and plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe venue, fostering positive relationships with partners, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform regular rounds throughout the interior and exterior of the venue to ensure proper security measures are maintained throughout the day.
  • Ensure pass sheets and personnel lists are printed and distributed to venue access guards at the top of each show day.
  • Train third-party security guards on venue protocols and practices.
  • Perform regular inspections on current security equipment to ensure efficiency and functionality. Make recommendations for updates as needed.
  • Document all incidents per ATG Entertainment requirements including vandalism, leaks, or unauthorized loitering.
  • Communicate daily with Security Manager and venue management, briefing them on any issues or updates throughout the shift.
  • Keep loading areas clear of unauthorized vehicles and direct traffic safely.
  • Serve as the face of Kings Theatre for all arriving tour personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Kings Theatre is a live concert venue in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. After a meticulous restoration and reopening in 2015, Kings Theatre has again become a hub for live entertainment, hosting events ranging from concerts and comedy to film screenings, fashion shows, and more.
  • The Security Supervisor, Back of House reports to the Security Manager.
  • This role must collaborate and effectively communicate with all visiting tours, as well as building departments, including General Management, Front of House, Production, Operations, and Food & Beverage.
  • This role is required to be on site at Kings Theatre, when scheduled.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • NYS Security Guard license required.
  • Minimum of one year as a Security Guard at a live event venue.
  • Thorough understanding of safety and security protocols.
  • Must be willing to receive certifications as needed such as OSHA-10, F-04, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict de-escalation and crisis management.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekend hours, and holidays, based on the venue schedule.
  • A passion for live music and entertainment a plus.
