Coler offers long term and subacute care, rehabilitation, and a dedicated memory care unit, comprised of 150 beds featuring an acclaimed music and memory program. The facility features a robust rehabilitation therapy program with expansive gym space for residents. Job Description
Position Overview: Under supervision of licensed personnel, performs phlebotomy procedures to provide ancillary support to laboratories in drawing blood from patient/client for testing and diagnostic procedures and in support of a blood donor program. Cleans laboratory equipment and performs clerical duties in support of laboratory/phlebotomy activity.
Responsibilities:
Performs blood drawing procedure.
Provides on call coverage when someone calls out or takes time off.
Provides instructions to patients in order to obtain test samples needed.
Accessions specimens for testing.
Provide phlebotomy and / or accessioning coverage in all areas of the laboratory when needed.
Adheres to Infection Control practices including blood and body fluid standard precaution and isolation techniques.
Keeps Phlebotomy Kit and Cart clean.
Obtains supplies and restocks phlebotomy supplies as needed.
Informs Supervisor/Manager of any incidents pertaining with patients.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduation from a senior high school or evidence of having passed an examination for a High School Equivalency Diploma; or, 2. Satisfactory combination and education, training and experience; and, Successful completion of the prescribed training program for Phlebotomist.
