We are in the search for a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team in the non-profit sector in Durham, North Carolina. As a Customer Service Representative, your primary role will be to interact with our members and assist with their needs. This role will require you to process payments, manage member accounts, and handle various member inquiries while maintaining our high standards of service.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in meaningful conversations to identify and address member needs accurately.
• Manage and enhance member relationships through providing excellent service.
• Accurately process share deposit payments, loan payments, and account transfers.
• Handle cash and check withdrawals for members.
• Ensure all member transactions are completed accurately and within the prescribed limits and guidelines.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure they are accurate and compliant.
• Address member inquiries about our services and accounts, providing clear and concise information.
• Conduct necessary account maintenance as authorized.
• Promote our products and services to members, ensuring they are aware of all available options.
• Maintain knowledge of our consumer and mortgage loans to effectively refer members to the respective departments.
• Observe all security/internal controls, actively protecting our organization by identifying potentially fraudulent or forged documentation and activity.
• Respond to electronic requests submitted by members in a professional, prompt, efficient, and accurate manner.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.• Proven experience in a customer service role, ideally within a non-profit organization
• Proficiency in handling inbound and outbound calls in a call center environment
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on delivering high-quality support
• Familiarity with data entry tasks and high attention to detail
• Ability to handle email correspondence professionally and efficiently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Experience in order entry and processing
• Ability to schedule appointments effectively, managing and prioritizing multiple bookings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle complaints effectively
• High school diploma or equivalent education level.
