Accounting Clerk Job at Robert Half in Carmel

We are offering an exciting contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the insurance industry, based in Carmel, Indiana. The successful candidate will be a vital part of our team, tasked with handling all aspects of accounts receivable, including invoicing, customer service, and reconciliation tasks. This role necessitates in-person attendance at our Carmel office during regular business hours.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the correct and timely processing of payments from insured clients

• Work in conjunction with the insurance team to accomplish billing, collections, and reporting tasks within set timeframes

• Keep an accurate record of all transactions related to accounts receivable, liaising with the finance department to address discrepancies and ensure customer satisfaction

• Maintain regular contact with clients about their outstanding balances, providing them with accurate account statements

• Perform regular reconciliations of the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted

• Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for data entry and invoice processing

• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications to manage accounting figures and financial records

• Apply account reconciliation skills to ensure accurate financial records

• Exhibit exceptional customer service and negotiation skills in interactions with clients.

• Proven experience in the insurance industry preferred

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR), managing incoming payments and maintaining accurate records

• Proficiency in billing procedures, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy

• Strong data entry skills, with a high level of attention to detail

• Experience in invoice processing, ensuring all invoices are correctly logged and paid
