We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounting Assistant in the construction industry, located in South Orlando, Florida. The workplace environment involves managing accounts payable and supporting project staff in a local construction company.


Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process AP invoices, set up new vendors and manage credit applications for new accounts.

• Organize, scan, and file accounts payable documents such as invoices, delivery notes, tickets, and other proof of service.

• Update and maintain an Excel tracking sheet with detailed information about deliveries, quantities, cost codes, etc.

• Provide assistance to project staff with questions or issues related to JD Edwards, accrued costs, payment dates, etc.

• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather necessary information and documentation, correct invoices, obtain additional documents, and lien waivers.

• Offer support to the Office Manager or Senior Office Manager as required.

• Manage payroll operations including time entry, certified payrolls processing, and payroll reporting.

• Assist staff with general inquiries or direct them to the appropriate office contact.

• Foster a positive working relationship with regional, division, and corporate administrative departments.

• Implement and maintain compliance with internal controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Oversee record storage and audit prevention in line with company standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is required
• Experience with CaseWare software is essential
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is necessary
• Strong understanding of core Accounting Functions is expected
• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) is a must
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial
• Experience in Auditing is desirable
• Skill in conducting Bank Reconciliations is required
