About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting Policy to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including researching accounting guidance, implementing new accounting standards, and documenting the company's accounting policies with a focus on the asset management business. This role involves active participation in quarterly meetings with key stakeholders to identify new transactions that require pre-execution accounting due diligence. The VP will also be involved in reading and summarizing transaction documents, identifying accounting issues, and preparing a roadmap of preliminary accounting conclusions. Additionally, the role includes assisting in presenting these conclusions to external auditors, monitoring accounting reconsideration events, and ensuring the implementation of new accounting guidance from the FASB and/or SEC. Applicants for the Vice President of Accounting Policy position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a Master's degree preferred, and a CPA certification. A minimum of 4-6 years' of public accounting experience, particularly in the asset management industry, is required. The role demands a professional who can work closely with the Controllership and Reporting teams, and who is adept at identifying and maintaining key SOX controls related to the accounting policy function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting policy, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
