About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its DC region. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and driving the strategic vision in line with the organization's 5-year plan, leading regional teams to achieve transformational results, and managing a substantial budget. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of the students, cultivating the external environment for the organization to thrive, and maintaining a financially sustainable network of high-performing elementary schools. The Executive Director will also be tasked with managing a large team, including school and program teams, and community engagement, with a focus on student achievement, development, and external relationship management. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a BA/BS (Master's preferred) and at least 10 years' of experience in nonprofit management, with a proven track record of success. Strong leadership, strategic management, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams. The role requires a leader with a deep commitment to the community, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising, financial management, and a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. They should be collaborative, innovative, and resilient, with the ability to lead with humility and authenticity.
