We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director of Technology to lead our technology initiatives and drive innovation in education. Position Overview: As the Executive Director of Technology at Natomas Unified School District, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for all aspects of information technology across the district. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education by integrating technology into our teaching and learning processes, ensuring seamless technology operations, and promoting data-driven decision-making. Requirements / Qualifications Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Customer Service: Promote efficient, high-quality tech support for students, staff, and families. • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a technology plan aligned with educational goals to enhance learning experiences. • Team Management: Lead and mentor a collaborative tech team, fostering growth and innovation through effective communication and support. • Communication: Ensure timely, clear communication with all stakeholders, including staff, students, and families. • Infrastructure & Systems: Manage district technology infrastructure, covering networks, hardware, and software systems. • Educational Technology Integration: Collaborate with educators to incorporate technology into the curriculum, enhancing teaching and learning with innovative tools. • Cybersecurity: Implement robust cybersecurity to protect data and ensure regulatory compliance. • Digital Literacy: Promote responsible digital behavior, teaching cyber hygiene and privacy best practices. • Budget Management: Optimize the technology budget, balancing resource allocation and cost-effectiveness. • Vendor & Stakeholder Relations: Build relationships with vendors, community partners, and educational stakeholders to maximize resources. • Data Analytics: Use data insights to support decision-making and personalize learning experiences. • Policy Development: Establish and enforce technology policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. • Professional Development: Provide technology training for staff to enhance tech proficiency in educational settings. • Project Management: Oversee IT project management, coordinating with departments, vendors, and contractors for smooth project execution. These responsibilities focus on strategic leadership, technical oversight, collaboration, and continuous improvement to align technology initiatives with educational goals and support the district community effectively. Education and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and leadership abilities could qualify someone for this position. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and leadership abilities would be one or both of the following: Education: Graduation from a four-year accredited university with a degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Educational, or Public Administration or equivalent is desired. Experience: Minimum five (5) years increasingly responsible and related leadership experience with: -Proven experience in a leadership role within K-12 education or a related field. -Strong understanding of educational technology trends, tools, and best practices. -Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills. -Knowledge of relevant compliance and regulatory standards in educational technology. -Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders. -Visionary leadership and a commitment to improving education through technology.
