Position Overview: Client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their executive team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, operations, and financial management within the consumer products industry. The COO will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the achievement of our strategic goals. As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will play a pivotal role, reporting directly to the President/CEO. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the global operations strategy, which encompasses production, procurement, logistics, footprint optimization, operations technology development, equipment improvements, continuous improvements, automation, and industrialization. You will set ambitious objectives for efficiency and drive key operating metrics in quality, safety, on-time delivery, and cost, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As a member of the leadership team, your strategic insights and direction will be crucial to the company’s success.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategies to enhance manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and environmental health & safety in a manufacturing environment. Ensure efficient operation of all manufacturing facilities to meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost metrics. Champion continuous process improvements across production, assembly, quality, safety, supply chain, and manufacturing engineering. Collaborate with IT and manufacturing teams to leverage technology for efficient and cost-effective business growth. Utilize business intelligence solutions to enhance access to data and analytical insights, prioritizing opportunities for improvement. Ensure full operational compliance with industry standards, certifications, and audits. Lead a high-performing team through effective communication, training, empowerment, rewards, and coaching. Develop and manage operating and capital budgets to achieve the company’s short- and long-term revenue and profit targets.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience leading complex domestic and global operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and continuous improvement. A track record of delivering operational excellence and creating lean environments to drive cost, quality, and on-time delivery improvements. Proven experience in leading change and business transformation. Ability to optimize working capital within manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain structures. Inspirational leadership skills and the ability to cultivate a high-performing team. Strategic thinking with the capability to articulate a long-term vision for Operations and drive key success factors. Financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cost management. Ability to develop and manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and drive profitability. Experience managing Operations in multiple industries.
