Executive Director, Security, Compliance, & Dispatch . The selected candidate will perform duties that support the mission and vision of the UMBPD and the University. Primary Duties: Lead the strategic planning and assessment efforts for all Department of Public Safety staff including security, emergency dispatch, business operations, Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) represented staff, police leadership, and office of the fire marshal staff. Responsible for oversight of Human Resources for recruitment, orientation, retention, and promotion throughout the unit. Direct and manage strategic organizational changes. Create and foster a cohesive work team that works collaboratively to achieve departmental goals. Work with central Human Resource Services (HRS) to administer and interpret the department's union contracts and participate in labor contract negotiations, grievance meetings, and arbitration. Oversee administrative business operations for the department that include travel arrangements, billing, and other programmatic, administrative, and technical responsibilities. Organize and/or participate in various committees and teams to consult with program heads and administrative officials on security, emergency dispatch, police, business operations, office of the fire marshal, and Clery Act policy and program needs. Oversee all aspects of Clery Act coordination including record keeping, communications, regulations and implementing strategies for maintaining compliance. Develop an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to support the goals of the Department of Public Safety and coordinate work efforts with UMB Police Department leadership and HRS. Provide day-to-day coaching to department leadership on a variety of actions involving department staff including both union represented and non-union represented staff. Analyze metrics in partnership with HRS to proactively identify trends and develop solutions, programs, and policies for the department. Serve as primary contact and liaison between UMB's Department of Public Safety, HRS, and Central Administration Support Services. Compile standardized, benchmark, and other relevant data to develop and produce aggregate reports on a regular basis. Evaluate current reporting techniques and structures, data monitoring and collection, and database creation for effectiveness, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the fields of law enforcement, criminal justice, higher education, human resources, or other related field of study. Master's degree preferred. Experience:

Seven (7) years of experience with a demonstrated background in the administration and operations of a complex multi-faceted organization providing services to multiple customers, preferably in a higher education or research-intensive setting. Supervisory Experience:

Three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably within a law enforcement or security setting. Certification/Licensure:

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification or similar security certification or PHR/SPHR certification highly desirable, but not required. Other:
