Executive Director of Controllership Location
USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities
Lead the Controllership team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop and mentor a high-performing team of accounting professionals. Oversee the preparation and accuracy of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. Ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual reporting to stakeholders, parent company, and external auditors. Design, implement, and maintain an effective system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and fixed assets. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards, including SEC reporting requirements. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on the company. Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making and long-term planning. Collaborate with FP&A to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Controllership function. Leverage technology and automation to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders. Present financial results and key findings to senior management and the Board of Directors. What You'll Bring to Our Team
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required. Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant leadership roles in a large, complex organization. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance. Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. High level of integrity and ethical standards.
