A law firm in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a highly experienced and accomplished Life Science IP Partner to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring a substantial portable book of business exceeding $600,000 and a proven track record in handling a diverse range of life science intellectual property matters, including prosecution, transactional, and litigation issues. This is a premier opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to and grow with a leading firm. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and manage a robust portfolio of life science intellectual property cases. Provide strategic advice on IP issues related to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets in the life sciences sector. Represent clients in complex litigation, including patent infringement suits and IP disputes. Negotiate and draft IP-related agreements, including licensing agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. Oversee and manage IP prosecution, including preparing and filing patent applications and responding to office actions. Conduct thorough IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and legal developments impacting life science IP. Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment. Cultivate and expand client relationships, leveraging a strong network and business development skills. Requirements: Demonstrated portable book of business exceeding $600,000. Extensive experience in life science IP law, including prosecution, transactional, and litigation matters. Proven track record of managing complex IP portfolios and high-profile cases. Strong business development understanding and ability to generate new business opportunities. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or equivalent experience. Certifications: Admission to the State Bar in New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain). Skills: In-depth knowledge of life science IP law and practices. Proven ability to handle high-stakes IP litigation and negotiation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in legal research and IP management tools. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
