Position Summary
The primary function of this position is project delivery lead providing project management with a primary focus on roadway design projects. This includes engineering design and coordination functions, proposals, budgets, scheduling, client meetings, tracking, reporting, contracts, status reports, invoicing etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management/Technical
: Responsible for all aspects of a roadway design project, including identifying and documenting scope of work and key deliverables and timelines, negotiating contract revisions, cost control, staffing and quality control. Provide and/or oversee design and production of project deliverables, including design plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Follow internal QA/QC requirements Provide technical solutions, judgment and mentorship to mid-level and junior staff. Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, and Shrewsberry objectives Manage local Shrewsberry personnel (as well as sub-contractors) to meet project deliverables in a timely manner while remaining within budget Responsible for maintaining schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects Work with technical staff to develop proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates Establish staffing plans for projects with close coordination with group director. Review project invoices, and prepare project status reports Utilize project management software for successful project management and accurate reporting of employee expenses and time Requirements Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college A minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering; Proven success in project management/delivery of roadway design projects. Colorado Experience a plus LICENSES; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado; licensure in additional states may be required in the future If an employee plans to use their own vehicle in the scope of their employment with Shrewsberry, they will be required to provide proof of insurance and a drivers license Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of the practical application of engineering. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various deliverables Excellent organization Clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing Meet project deadlines within given budget limits and time frames Prioritize and multi-task assigned projects, and work with minimal supervision Quality Control/Quality Assurance focus Assist in development of Proposals, Statement of Qualification, and various other solicitation responses. Work effectively individually and as a team member; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and employees in other departments Proficient in operating various specialized software including, but not limited to, CADD and 3D modeling software (AutoCad and/or Microstation), Microsoft Word and Excel We are an equal opportunity employer and believe diversity makes teams better.
