Job Title:
Project Manager: Security Policies and Processes Job Description: The Security Policies and Processes Project Manager will oversee a project involving multiple tasks which ensure the safety and security of Veterans, the Veterans Affairs (VA) workforce, and those interacting with the VA while supporting the continuity of mission critical and essential services as part of the Nation’s overall response and preparedness efforts. The Security Policies and Processes Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project, from formulation to completion and must have strategic foresight for VA’s nationwide national security operations, preparedness, security, and law enforcement portfolios. This role will require both technical and managerial expertise, as well as the ability to collaborate directly with customers, VA management, and other stakeholders. The Security Policies and Processes Project Manager will focus on defining system scope and objectives, analyzing technical data, and ensuring that customer technical requirements are met. Key Responsibilities: Project Management:
Lead and manage projects involving security policies and processes, ensuring alignment with the VA's mission to protect Veterans, the VA workforce, and all who interact with the VA. Systems Scope and Definition:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define system scope and objectives based on the customer's technical needs, ensuring that all communication systems and equipment meet the project's demands. Data Analysis:
Compile and analyze technical data to provide comprehensive insights and ensure the project's smooth execution. Advisory Role:
Provide expert advice to VA management and customers on complex system projects, activities, and operations, focusing on continuous improvement and strategic implementation. Customer Interaction:
Collaborate closely with customers to understand and define communication systems, equipment requirements, and project goals. Function as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and feedback throughout the project's lifecycle. Quality Assurance:
Conduct quality assurance reviews, ensuring all project activities meet specified standards and document all findings. Provide training and instruction on quality assurance processes when necessary. Required Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field. Experience:
8-10 years of extensive understanding of emergency management operations, preparedness strategies, and familiarity with security and law enforcement practices. Knowledge of Emergency Management Operations and Preparedness:
Extensive understanding of emergency management systems and preparedness strategies. Knowledge of Security and Law Enforcement:
Demonstrated knowledge in security protocols and law enforcement practices, ensuring project alignment with current regulations and safety standards. Skills and Competencies: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within budget and time constraints. Experience in system lifecycle management and quality assurance reviews. Familiarity with VA or similar federal project requirements, providing a seamless customer experience. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Preferred Skills: Experience working with federal agencies, specifically the VA or defense-related projects. Work Location:
