We are seeking a Scrum Master to support one of our client's technology teams. This position is based in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid). Please apply only if you are currently located in Charlotte, NC, as we are not considering candidates outside this location.
Type: 12-Month Contract
Rate: $70-80 per hour
The Scrum Master will guide and coach the technology team in Agile best practices, fostering collaboration and ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions. They will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, and support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog. By promoting continuous improvement and team self-organization, the Scrum Master will drive the team toward achieving business objectives efficiently and predictably.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Scrum Master, demonstrating a strong track record of leading Agile teams to deliver high-quality products, meet delivery commitments, and drive continuous improvement.Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as JIRA and advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and Word.
- Experience in Investment Banking or Regulatory Reporting domains is highly preferred.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with additional Agile methodologies like Kanban and XP (Extreme Programming).
- Proven ability to facilitate productive discussions, drive decision-making, and manage conflict resolution.
- Track record of continued Agile education through training, conferences, or self-study.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Strong experience with Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning.
- Proficiency in guiding teams to develop and maintain a Program Backlog.
- Familiarity with various scaled Agile frameworks and tools to support enterprise-level initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve and support the Product Owner and Development Team to deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- Review, split, and size User Stories, ensuring they meet high standards and align with Agile principles.
- Provide servant leadership, embodying and promoting Scrum and Agile values through leading by example.
- Guide and coach the Scrum Team and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices while ensuring delivery commitments are met.
- Help teams self-organize, bridging intentional gaps in Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Assess and elevate Scrum maturity across teams and the organization at a sustainable and comfortable pace.
- Proactively remove impediments or guide the team to resolve them efficiently by identifying appropriate resources.
- Foster a trusting and safe environment for open communication, problem-solving, and collaborative decision-making.
- Facilitate work execution without coercion or dictation while resolving conflicts constructively.
- Support Product Owners in refining and managing the product backlog effectively.
- Drive key Train ceremonies, including PI Planning preparation and execution, and assist with creating a Program Backlog.
