About this role:

We are looking for a Master Plumber to oversee complex plumbing projects and ensure the highest standards of installation and repair. In this role, you will manage and supervise plumbing work, provide expert guidance on system design and troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. You will also mentor and train junior plumbers, coordinate with other trades, and handle intricate plumbing issues requiring advanced technical knowledge. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and extensive experience in the field are essential for success in this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee and execute residential service work, including diagnosing and resolving complex plumbing issues with precision.
  • Manage the installation of plumbing systems, including the assembly, positioning, and sealing of valves, pipe fittings, and pipes, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain plumbing problems, offer tailored repair or replacement options, and ensure their satisfaction with the solutions provided.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 5+ years of progressive experience in the plumbing trade, including residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems. Extensive knowledge of plumbing installations, repairs, and system designs is essential.
  • Licensing: Active Master Plumbing License in good standing, with the ability to obtain licenses in other jurisdictions if necessary. Additional certifications such as gas fitting, backflow prevention, or specialized plumbing certifications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Mastery of all aspects of plumbing systems, including water, gas, drainage, and sewage.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and implementing blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and local plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with complex plumbing systems such as radiant heating, water filtration, and medical gas piping.
  • Project Management Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale plumbing projects from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Experience in coordinating with other trades, contractors, and clients on multifaceted construction and renovation projects.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring Journeyman plumbers and apprentices, with a focus on training, safety, and skill development.
  • Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and maintain accountability for performance and project success.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues efficiently.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Deep understanding of plumbing-related safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety standards on all job sites and ensuring compliance with all relevant building and plumbing codes.
  • Business Acumen:
  • Ability to provide accurate cost estimates, negotiate contracts, and manage project finances.
  • Familiarity with business operations, including client relations, project scheduling, and vendor management.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex systems to clients and stakeholders.
  • Technology Proficiency:
  • Proficient with plumbing and project management software, as well as mobile technology used for tracking projects, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Availability & Flexibility: Willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies and take on flexible work schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and 3 years of driving experience.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements of this job include tasks such as lifting weights (e.g., pounds regularly and occasionally), climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work. The role also involves working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces, and exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as rain or snow.
