OSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing current and proposed business operations and considering options for improvement. These operations also include but aren’t limited to financial reports, key performance indicators (KPIs) and other key metrics. The Business Analyst will assess the overall effectiveness of Port Jersey Logistics and its departments to devise solutions to problems as well as improve processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with organizational and departmental stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with both customers and vendors to manage and execute projects, their related timelines and deliverables.
- Data Analysis:
- Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties
- Gather, review and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics
- Utilize tools like PowerBI and Crystal Reports to analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Database Querying:
- Perform advanced querying and reporting using Oracle or SQL databases to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
- System Expertise:
- Apply knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize logistics operations. Experience with Synapse is a plus.
- Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations
- Independent Work:
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications and other productivity toolsets
- Proven ability to manage projects and user testing
- Extensive experience with data visualization
- High proficiency in technical writing
- Certifications a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Five or more years of experience in analytics and systems development preferably in a third partly logistics (3PL) environment
- High proficiency with Oracle and/or SQL and database management
- Proven analytical abilities
- Experience in generating process documentation and reports
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
