ROLE The IT Program Manager is responsible for managing the software development and delivery of patient-facing products and features for Stanford Hospital & Clinics. The position combines project management responsibilities with in-depth, hands-on technical expertise. The Project Manager is responsible for working with a project team that may include developers, researchers, designers, as well as operational and clinical representatives such as physicians and clinic staff. The role entails managing multiple projects concurrently, building cross-functional plans, budgeting, coordinating resources, managing issues, as well as ensuring timely delivery through the full software development life cycle, including launch and post-launch activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitates Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Product Demos and Sprint Retrospectives - full Software Development Life Cycle. Provides leadership for functional and cross-functional program improvement efforts. Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables to align with business objectives in collaboration with management and stakeholders. Manages and documents program improvement efforts using standard A3 templates. Facilitates full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Product Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives. Manages and delivers committed features for the release, ensuring successful completion. Supports the team in developing, maintaining, and grooming the Product Backlog. Identifies and removes impediments/blockers to keep teams productive. Identifies and manages dependencies with internal and external teams. Aligns deliverables with the Scrum team and non-agile teams, ensuring consistency. Provides metrics and project status updates to senior management. Tracks project progress, issues, risks, and action items to drive them to closure. Supports and collaborates with team members to implement Agile/Scrum best practices. Collaborates with the Technical Development team to identify critical paths and ensure alignment. Manages project risks, issues, and multiple workstreams effectively. Coordinates development capacity planning and release scheduling. Prepares and reviews QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans.
EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of four years of experience with Waterfall/ SCRUM / Agile methodologies and 5+ years of experience in the Healthcare industry. Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving core project goals. Proficient in SCRUM/Agile project management methodologies and techniques. Experienced in using Service Now, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, Visio, and other project management tools. Exceptional customer and team management skills, fostering strong collaboration and performance. Expertise in A/B testing, multivariate testing, and related tools to optimize project outcomes. Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
