Epson is redefining the home theater experience with a range of new technologies, products and marketing activities. The North American Consumer Imaging Management team is looking for a seasoned product manager to lead marketing for a core line of products. Position Overview We are looking for an energetic, hands-on doer who can execute as well as think strategically. Proven success in marketing, preferably in the consumer electronics space, is required. A strong grounding in strategic marketing planning, customer segmentation, and product positioning is necessary. Experience in interfacing with channel partners, developing product roadmaps, and interacting with the editorial community is a must. A strong passion and technical ability for consumer electronics is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and business acumen, as well as a great understanding of the consumer electronics technology and industry. A positive, team-player attitude is crucial, as this position will work closely with the rest of the Product Marketing team as well as Merchandising, Marcom, Service and Support, Documentation, Engineering, and Executive Management teams. This position will be based out of our Los Alamitos, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule. Go To Market • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for new products. Identify key customer segments through proprietary qualitative market research, market data analysis, and strong understanding of the products. • Develop and drive marketing communications. In conjunction with the Marcomm manager, develop the marketing plan and guide creative teams in the development of merchandising, advertising, and training materials. • Manage promotional budget and sales planning and contribute to achievement of business plan sales goals. Product Lifecycle Management • Manage the product lifecycle for assigned models, providing input on product features and making assortment recommendations. • Manage the launch of new models interfacing with key support teams. Life-cycle management of current models, including pricing, forecasting, and product sunset. • Engage with sales team and channel customers. Develop and deliver roadmap and marketing presentations to key accounts. Be the internal champion for field-sales team members. • Work with legal and sales teams to ensure channel compliance with sales policies. Roadmap and Research • Manage and coordinate product development projects by engaging with internal and external stakeholders including senior management in the US and Japan. • Lead business case development, provide strategic input into product roadmap development, and support key requests/tasks. • Coordinate and manage relationships to monitor product development processes and make recommendations for meeting market needs. • Manage and improve structured processes for a complete product launch. • Ensure that project milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. Desired Skills & Experience • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree; an MBA with an Engineering background is highly preferred. • Minimum of 7 years direct hardware Product Management experience. Technical aptitude for hardware, software, and user experience benchmarking. • Passion for Home Entertainment product space with hands-on experience. • Ability to develop and sell ideas well through creative & innovative PowerPoint presentations. • Solid skills at cross-functional team building and cross-cultural communication are critical. • Strong analytical, product management, project management, and retail marketing experience. • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (domestically and internationally).
