Description
Assists and provides guidance regarding student behavior management and consults with appropriate personnel to resolve issues, as needed
Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner
Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students
Exhibit good judgment in decision making, problem solving and the provision of customer service to students, parents, and District stakeholders
Analyze service center level concerns, develop strategies for improvement and implement solutions
Manage assigned budget for service center and decisions that impact budget
Ensure all required reports are accurate and sent to transportation administration timely
Ensures driving and staffing assignments are appropriate to ensure students are safely transported to/from school on time
Schedules routine visits with campuses and maintains open communication with administrators
Ensures incident alerts are acted upon promptly and proactively and must provide weekly updates and reports to Executive Director
Ensures student management programs and procedures are effective in promoting acceptable student conduct and safety
Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and allegations for the assigned service center.
Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
Responsible for the continual training and development of service center employees.
Operate a school bus when necessary
Perform additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and evaluate the performance of the manager and direct reports. Support and supervise service center staff with indirect supervision to monitors and drivers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related field required
Certification with Texas Association for Pupil Transportation preferred
Five (5) years of experience in transportation preferred; preferably in a K-12 environment
Five (5) years of experience in a supervisor capacity
Exceptional written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of the Texas School Transportation laws, rules, and regulations preferred
Proficient with MS Office Suite and other software applications
Ability to speak Spanish a plus
Texas CDL class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
