Description
Assist with the coordination of all activities supported by Advanced Academic Services, including but not limited to Advancement Via Individual Determination, Advanced Placement and Gifted/Talented Services. Visit school sites to observe and coach teachers and staff. Manage the collection of data as requested and for use in program evaluation. At the request of the director, represent the department at meetings with students, parents, community partners, district staff and leadership. Prepare and review presentations, summaries, required reports, data, and other documents as needed for distribution to the director and/or executive director. Collaborate with all other departments, including but not limited to Teaching and Learning, to improve instruction and participation in advanced level coursework. Assist with the design, implementation, monitoring, support, communication and continuous improvement of K-12 advanced academic programs that lead to increased college-level coursework success on elementary, middle and high school campuses. Develop, revise, prepare and present professional learning for teachers and staff supported by Advanced Academic Services. Assist in the development of curriculum and instructional resources for advanced learners. Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and resources for use in classroom instruction. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required; Master's Degree from an accredited university preferred. Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned required; Texas standard Principal Certificate or Mid-Management Certificate preferred. Five years of direct experience. Ability to create, implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms (print and electronic), resulting in products that are technically precise, accurate, and readable Successful experience in practices which improve implementation of strategies and best practices for advanced learners. Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and conducting effective professional learning. Demonstrated skills in building teamwork and working well with others, while problem-solving, and taking initiative. Ability to provide leadership to support all district and departmental goals and objectives.
