Join us and help transform lives!GENERAL FUNCTIONUnder the direction of the Executive Director and with guidance from the appropriate committees of the Jordan YMCA, the Associate Executive Director is responsible for the development and administration of YMCA programs and the supervision of the program staff including the Wellness Director, Aquatic Director, Membership Director, Youth & Family Life Director, and Youth Sports Director for the Jordan YMCA. This position is also responsible for the administration of our volunteer program.KNOW HOWThis position requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of professional experience. The ability to develop and maintain quality programs is essential. Strong organizational and supervisory skills are required. This person must possess knowledge in the areas of fiscal management, program planning, personnel management, training and evaluation, public relations, and fundraising.PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES*Designated as a First Responder in the event of an emergency.Develops, administers and controls fiscal budgets, including meeting income targets and expense control, in consultation with the Program Directors and Center Executive.Selects, trains and supervises Program Directors with consultation and approval of the Executive Director.Evaluates performance, at least annually, of Program Directors on mutually accepted performance goals.Interprets Association goals, objectives and policies to the community and constituency.Evaluates programs and recommends changes based on compatibility with the Center and Association goals. Responsible for the development of new program thrusts.Guides Center Program Committee in formulating policies and programs consistent with Center and Association goals.Provides leadership to Association program committees as assigned.Assists in the development of the Center strategic plan.Shares responsibility for Center supervision, public relations, planning and promotions as agreed.Assists in the Annual Campaign by giving direct leadership to the staff and/or community campaign.Assists in the International aspect of the Association including World Service education and fundraising.Prepares reports as required.Shares responsibility for providing income through membership fees and special subsidies.Provides leadership to the “Exceeding Expectations” teams for the Jordan YMCA.Assists with the New Employee Orientation, Listen First training, and other required orientation sessions.Assists with the planning and implementation of member involvement efforts to increase membership and retain current members, especially as it relates to program specific areas.Assists with any other projects or activities as assigned.It is the policy of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis to provide equal employment opportunity to employees and candidates for employment.
