Sr. Development Manager

role is based in our Los Angeles, CA office and contributes to all aspects of new project execution, managing key aspects of complex development projects during entitlements, due diligence, design, construction, and lease-up. WHAT YOU’LL DO: PREDEVELOPMENT:

Supports due diligence on prospective land or building acquisitions, managing project costs, and obtaining all permits and approvals required to commence construction. EXECUTION:

Manages development projects including procurement and management of general contractors, reviewing estimates, schedules, and change orders, and coordinating with city officials and utility companies throughout construction. POST DEVELOPMENT (CLOSE-OUT) EXECUTION:

Supports project close-out, including supervising walk-throughs, coordinating final inspections, and obtaining necessary certifications. PROJECT TEAMS:

Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance to co-workers and supports planning and supervision of assignments. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL:

Primarily in-office role with expected travel to job sites within the region. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, business or equivalent preferred. INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

Typically at least 5 years of commercial development management experience, with knowledge of construction practices and relevant laws. PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

Ability to support multiple projects and create achievable project schedules. PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:

Ability to recognize problems and resolve issues quickly. COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively. TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY:

Proficient in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. The minimum salary for the Sr. DM position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary is $145,000 annually. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits including 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
