Position Summary
The Mechatronics Instructor will deliver high-quality, industry-focused instruction in mechatronics courses, including motor controls, solid-state electronics, digital systems, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, sensor technology, and manufacturing system troubleshooting and repair. The role requires flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend classes, as well as participate in additional training opportunities. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging coursework, maintaining student records, recruiting and advising students, and supporting their career placement and success. This position plays a vital role in preparing students to meet regional workforce demands by equipping them with essential skills for successful careers in advanced manufacturing.
Salary Schedule Placement: Appropriate placement on Salary ScheduleD1 IB-IV ($42,108- $94,363) based on education and experience. Summer appointments are based on enrollment- Salary Schedule D1 ($13,001 - $29,184) based on education and experience. Annual Potential Salary including Summer Appointment ($55,109- $123,547)

The Mechatronics/Manufacturing Instructor will be expected to work a flexible schedule which may include day, evening, night and weekend hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach 30-35 contact hours or 15-16 credit hours per semester.
- Regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Prepare and maintain current course syllabus according to guidelines of the College and ACCS.
- Develop and implement a program of instruction that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students and is consistent with local and state plan of study and curriculum guides.
- Plan and employ a variety of appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities which are compatible with the physical facility but serve the needs and capabilities of the students.
- Plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students.
- Coordinate internships and Co-op with Industry to include tracking and maintaining records on Co-op and intern student progress
- Good knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment of instructional specialty.
- Prepare program course offerings for schedule for each semester.
- Develop and evaluate Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for instructional specialty.
- Good knowledge of institution's program of studies related to mission, goals and organization.
- Update and revise courses in collaboration with Alabama Community College System, Department Chair and faculty as necessary
- Maintain contact with business and industry and other potential employers.
- Mastery knowledge of the area of Mechatronics.
- Recruit students into program and advise through completion.
- Serve on divisional, institutional, and state-wide committees as appointed.
- Instructor must be available to teach in day, night, weekend classes, and training opportunities if necessary.
