Specific tasks for the Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant ensures accurate and timely month end close, properly accounting for all income and expenses

Analysis and challenge of financial results.

Variance analysis, Cost Analyis preferably within a manufacturing setting

Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures and make change recommendations

Accounting system, chart of account and cost center maintenance

Comply with local, state and federal reporting and tax filing

Support accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, payroll processes

Maintenance and development of internal controls including bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Production of financial statements

Assist in the creation of insightful financial reporting for presentation to management

Support budget and forecast processes

Provide ad hoc analysis as required

Support ad hoc projects and change activity

Skills/ Experience of the Senior Accountant

Bachelors degree in Accounting or related

3 years of relevant experience

Cost accounting experience a plus

Current knowledge of accounting processes with ability to drive continuous improvement

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g. lookups, pivot tables, data manipulation)Senior Accountant
