The Technical Specialist-Community Planner involves supporting the planning, development, and implementation of projects aimed at enhancing community resilience and mitigating risks.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Lead and support community planning efforts to develop and implement projects that enhance resilience
Provide technical assistance in the development of comprehensive plans, hazard mitigation plans, and other planning documents.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to community risk and resilience, and create maps and visualizations to support planning efforts.
Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and documentation in compliance with guidelines and requirements.
Engage with community stakeholders, including local governments, organizations, and the public, to gather input and provide updates on project progress.
Ensure that all planning activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
Assist in managing project tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Provide training and capacity-building support to local communities to enhance their ability to plan for and respond to natural disasters.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation and records.

Must have experience and be an expert with PCs, MS Office, Adobe, Google Mail, Citrix Sharefile (or other online platforms), and online meeting platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom
Education:
BA/BS degree in a related field required (for example, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field)
Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in community planning, hazard mitigation, or a related role.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Work Environment:
This position is open to candidates nationwide and is remote with site work as required by customer.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $59,000-130,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.
