Job Summary: A forklift driver, also known as a forklift operator, plays a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials and products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. They are responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: Operating Forklifts: Safely operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and goods within the facility. Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and storage racks using the forklift, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods. Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues. Material Handling: Handle materials with care to prevent damage and ensure that fragile or hazardous items are handled appropriately. Warehouse Organization: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse by properly storing materials and products. Communication: Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate the movement of materials and fulfill orders. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor. Preferred qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift operator certification. Proven experience as a forklift driver. Knowledge of forklift operations and safety procedures. Preferred skills and abilities:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects. Good communication and teamwork skills.
