Development Manager - Individual Giving

PRIMARY FUNCTION: :
The Development Manager- Individual Giving plays an important role within the Resource Development (RD) Team. This person is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase annual contributions from individuals, local businesses, and community partners.
Working closely with the VP of Resource Development and the RD Team, the Development Manager-Individual Giving will develop and implement efficient and effective solicitation, cultivation and stewardship strategies to support a $6mm organizational budget ($4.5mm through fundraising activities), including facilitating face-to-face solicitations, managing direct mail, online, and special campaigns and projects (i.e. North Texas Giving Day, UW Workplace Campaigns) and planning and supporting donor, related events as needed, including stewardship, recognition and prospecting events.
The Development Manager- Individual Giving will have on-going collaboration and communication with members of the Resource Development team and will report to the Vice President of Resource Development.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): Develop and implement a strategy to strengthen and increase BGCCC's base of financial support from individuals, local businesses and organizations. Work with the Vice President of RD, and CEO as needed, to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual gifts using face-to-face solicitations, direct mail, electronic solicitations and appeals for gifts up to $5,000 from individuals making gifts to the annual fund. Develop an annual giving plan including strategies for donor acquisition, stewardship, retention and increased individual contributions. Provide support to the events team through the promotion and sales of event sponsorships and tickets sales. Help lead the development and production of all annual fund materials (coordinated with Marketing) for print, digital, and social media channels. Create, manage, and execute all solicitation mailings including Annual Giving campaigns, stewardship, and other updates. Develop strong relationships with Operations Team to develop and maintain up-to-date subject matter knowledge and deliver a robust range of high-touch donor engagement opportunities. Design and implement strategy to engage alumni in becoming annual donors. Recruit chairs and committee members for Resource Development Committee and provide oversight and direction for committee members (volunteers). Oversee donor database (Raiser's Edge) and donor data management including report generation and analysis of donor activity regarding individual giving and cultivation. Oversee/review gift acknowledgement process; Write and update acknowledgement letter quarterly. Secure annual revenue from Employee Giving initiatives and Employer Matching Gifts Utilize donor database/CRM to manage pipeline, log activity with donors and provide reporting and analysis to review progress to include giving and cultivation. Represent the organization at community and networking events. Keep current with best practices, innovative developments, and trends in annual giving field Perform additional development duties and other responsibilities as assigned. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of 3- 5 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on annual giving. Proven track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in fundraising software and donor management systems. Considerable knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs mission, purpose, programs and impact. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Leadership, Club and admin staff, volunteers, Board members, community groups, and other related groups. Positive attitude and a passion for fulfilling the organization's mission.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Nonprofit and/or agency experience preferred. High-level proficiency with The Raiser's Edge. Graphic and website experience (Adobe Suite, InDesign, photoshop, WordPress, PowerPoint). Experience working well cross-functionally with teams. Excellent planning and organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate people to achieve results. An ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Data-driven leader with a track record of driving a digital strategy. Storytelling: passion for crafting a compelling story that drives people to action. Self-Starter: eagerness to roll up your sleeves, willing to immerse him or herself in the organization. Strong project management skills and attention to detail. Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation.
