POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for providing outstanding member service; recommending products and services, performing member transactions and supervises the Retail Banking Staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Provide outstanding member service by accurately processing member transactions and actively promoting products and services. Transactions include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, traveler's checks, money orders, placing check holds, assuring proper identification & endorsements, balance and maintain cash drawer, etc. Responsible for continual improvement in member service quality in all areas of the Credit Union. Maintain knowledge of all credit union products and services. Provide the teller staff with appropriate amount of guidance with transactions and keep tellers abreast of new policies and procedures. Mentor and coach teller line staff, stressing the importance of cross-selling while maintaining a highly motivated teller staff. Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach. Ensure the branch is up to the Credit Union's standards of excellence. Supervise, train and evaluate branch staff, performance and evaluation process. Utilize proactive discipline processes, as necessary to correct performance concerns. Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller differences cross-sells and new accounts. Run and analyze credit reports and counsel members on improving score, if applicable, and recommend products and services to assist members in building/maintaining a strong financial future. Ensure that teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies etc. Perform member service responsibilities, answering questions and requests, researching and resolving member issues, etc. Recommend changes, workflow, efficiencies and quality. In the absence of the Branch Manager, supervise the branch; being responsible for opening/closing procedures, the smooth operation of the branch and the branch staff. Prepare the monthly audit package for the Branch Manager to review. Assist Branch Manager as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High School Diploma or GED plus two years customer service and cashier experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience. Notary designation or ability to attain within 6 months.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience using P.C. based software including Microsoft Office.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to project a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Salary Description

$24 - $27 per hour dependent upon experience
