Development Associate

to help us achieve our fundraising goals and empower the potential in the youth of our state.

As the Development Associate, you'll be responsible for raising funds to support our mission, working across various fundraising channels to achieve our annual revenue goals.

1. Fundraising Events

Lead Successful Fundraisers:

Work with corporate sponsors, schools, and community members to secure event sponsorships, drive attendance, and ensure a successful experience for all participants. Collaborate on Event Planning:

Partner with the team on event logistics - including choosing venues, themes, and IT needs - to deliver impactful, well-executed fundraising events. 2. General Fundraising & Donor Stewardship

Meet Fundraising Targets:

Collaborate with the team to identify and pursue funding opportunities, including one-time, recurring, and planned gifts. Develop Donor Relationships:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and other key supporters to ensure ongoing engagement and retention. Assist with Grant Writing:

Provide support in grant writing to secure critical funding as directed by the CEO. 3. Mentor Recruitment

Support Recruitment Goals:

Partner with the recruitment team to drive mentor sign-ups and applications. Spread the Word:

Lead presentations and attend community events to recruit new mentors and raise awareness about our programs. Work with Marketing:

Collaborate with marketing consultants to create and distribute timely materials and content that support recruitment efforts. 4. Collaboration & Teamwork

Work Across Teams:

Participate in cross-departmental committees to leverage team talent and ensure alignment in achieving our mission and goals. Engage with the Community:

Build strong relationships with community partners, fellow nonprofit organizations, and stakeholders to amplify our impact. 5. Additional Responsibilities

Flexibility:

Be ready to take on other duties as needed to support the team's success and organizational growth. Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's Degree

required. 3+ years of experience

in fundraising, donor relations, or similar roles. Excellent Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms. Proven Fundraising Skills:

Experience in donor management, identifying, acquiring, and stewarding donors. Sales & Relationship Building:

Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners. Tech-Savvy:

Proficient in MS Office and fundraising software systems. Presentation Skills:

Comfortable making persuasive presentations to groups and individuals. Team Player:

Ability to collaborate and work effectively across teams to achieve organizational goals. Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Experience in

nonprofit fundraising

is a plus. Fluency in Spanish

Salary Description
