Job Title : Material Handler II

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Handler II to join our logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials within the facility while ensuring smooth operations, safety compliance, and inventory accuracy. As a more advanced role, you will also assist with training junior staff and contribute to process improvements in materials handling operations.

Performance Expectations Advanced Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and store materials, ensuring they are properly organized and ready for use in production or shipping. Maintain accurate documentation for inventory control and material tracking. Inventory Management: Track and update inventory records regularly, conduct stock audits, and ensure materials are available as needed. Help resolve discrepancies and take corrective action as required. Materials Distribution: Safely and efficiently move materials to various departments or areas as requested. Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring all materials are accounted for and accurately labeled. Training and Mentoring: Assist in training new or less experienced materials handlers. Provide guidance on best practices, safety procedures, and efficient material handling methods. Warehouse Organization: Ensure materials are stored in an organized manner that allows for easy retrieval. Assist with optimizing warehouse layout and storage systems to improve efficiency. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while handling materials and operating equipment. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions and work with the team to maintain a safe work environment. Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and tuggers. Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues to the supervisor. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory counts, and materials usage. Report any discrepancies or issues related to material flow or inventory. Process Improvement: Assist with identifying opportunities to improve material handling processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency. Propose solutions to increase productivity and streamline operations. Credentials

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations is a plus. Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in materials handling, warehouse operations, or a similar field. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently. Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS) is an asset. Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies in orders or inventory. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to collaborate with team members and other departments. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Desired Characteristics
