Job Summary:
The Material Handler at Talent Source will be responsible for moving, storing, and managing materials and products within the warehouse. This role involves a range of tasks including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Movement:Load and unload materials from trucks and other transportation vehicles.Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and other designated locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.Receiving and Inspection:Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders and packing slips.Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor.Inventory Management:Maintain accurate records of materials and products in the warehouse.Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in inventory audits.Organize and store materials according to company standards and procedures.Order Fulfillment:Pick and prepare materials and products for shipping according to customer orders and specifications.Pack and label shipments accurately and securely to prevent damage during transit.Warehouse Maintenance:Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping, organizing, and removing debris.Ensure materials are stored safely and accessibly.Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Participate in safety training sessions and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.Equipment Operation:Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems safely and efficiently.Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.Documentation:Accurately complete and maintain logs, records, and forms related to material handling activities.Assist in the preparation of shipping documents and labels.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar role is preferred.Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.Good organizational and time management skills.Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.Work Environment:
The position involves regular exposure to a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
