Job Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Administrative - Transportation Clerk in Marion, OH with a large transportation company. The role involves various office and administrative tasks within the transportation industry including customer service, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and database maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Handle customer service interactions and resolve equipment requests from drivers
• Conduct audits of logs, trip reports, and other Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting requirements
• Maintain and distribute route books, regularly interface with drivers, and assist with driver coverage during vacations and overflow freight situations
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, collections, and payroll functions
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently
• Track pallets daily/weekly as applicable and handle miscellaneous reporting
• Perform reconciliations of fuel and handle billing tasks
• Update system regarding yard moves and manually dispatch yard drivers
• Ensure punctual attendance and maintain logs for transportation services
• Uphold and track DOT requirements for log and driver files.
• Proven experience in Customer Service roles, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff.• Proficiency in Office Functions and an understanding of administrative procedures.
• Experience in Reporting, with the ability to present data in a clear and understandable manner.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoice processing and payment.
• Previous experience in Payroll, including understanding of payroll functions and regulations.
• Familiarity with Database management, including data entry and retrieval.
• Experience in Audit procedures, with a focus on identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Reconciliations, including balancing accounts and resolving any inconsistencies.
• Experience in Billing procedures, with an understanding of invoicing and payment processing.
• Familiarity with Collection Processes, including following up on outstanding payments.
• Knowledge of Payroll Functions, including processing payrolls and maintaining payroll information.
• Ability to monitor Attendance, including tracking employee presence and punctuality.
• Experience in maintaining Logs, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Understanding of Transportation Services, including scheduling and route planning.
• Familiarity with Pallet management, including tracking and organizing pallets.
• Experience in Dispatching, including coordinating and scheduling deliveries.
• Must be Punctual, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and schedules.
• Knowledge of Yard operations, including coordination of transportation and logistics activities.
