The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) currently has a vacancy for an unclassified Administrative Specialist for the Topeka location. The KCC is a multi-faceted agency responsible for regulating public utilities including electric, natural gas, telecommunication and water companies as well as motor carriers, oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas natural production activities. The Commission's headquarters is in Topeka with the central Conservation office in Wichita and four Conservation district offices located in Dodge City, Wichita, Chanute and Hays.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Serves as first level of contact for visitors and callers to the KCC Main Office.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
* Responds to both walk-in visitors and telephone calls.
* Receives all mail and vendor deliveries and provides signature when required.
* Manages check-in process for visitors attending agency meetings and events. Notifies the Public Affairs Office of press attendance at events.
* Responsible for training staff that will back-up front desk duties. Maintains written procedures and processes for the front desk.
* Reviews monthly vehicle fuel, maintenance and k-tag logs for completeness and accuracy, then submits them to Public Affairs and Consumer Protection (PACP) Director for signature.
* Reviews monthly interpreter invoices for accuracy, then completes a purchase request for PACP signature.
* Prepares annual compliance letters to jurisdictional utilities, then submits them to PACP director for review and signature. Tracks and logs responses, follows up as needed.
* Assists the KCC Transportation Division with periodic clerical projects and mailings.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
