CTL Certified Welding Inspector - CWI

Job Description:

·         Perform visual inspections of welds on piping systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).

·         Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT)

·         Verify welding procedures, qualifications, and records to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards

·         Monitor welding activities and processes to ensure adherence to approved welding procedure

·         Identify and document welding defects and recommend corrective actions

·         Ensure that all welding inspections are properly documented and maintained

·         Prepare and maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.

·         Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints related to piping systems

·         Communicate inspection results and quality issues to project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders

·         Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during welding and inspection activities

·         Conduct safety audits and inspections of welding operations and equipment

·         Provide guidance and training to welders and other personnel on welding standards and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements:

·         Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

·         Valid DL, clean driving record

·         Successful Completion of drug screen/background check

·         Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., confined spaces, heights, outdoors)

 

·         Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent

·         Additional certifications in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods are preferred.

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection, with a focus on piping systems

·         Extensive knowledge of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., ASME B31.1, B31.3, API 1104)

·         Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills

·         Effective communication and report-writing abilities

·         Familiarity with various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and materials used in piping systems

·         Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, ultrasonic testers)
