OVERVIEW
To assist the Senior Groundskeeper in maintaining the Miller landscape and gardens.
Undertake all aspects of landscape and turf maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities describe the general nature of work for employees in this position, but
this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory.
•Scheduling and supervision of landscape contractors
•Ordering of supplies and plant material
•Supervision of seasonal employee
•Turf maintenance including mowing, edging, clean-up, and removal of debris
•Planting, weeding, mulching, watering, trimming, and pruning; snow removal
•Application of fertilizers and pesticides as appropriate
•Operation of tools, equipment, and implements (some motorized) used to
accomplish the tasks associated with the position.

REQUIRED SKILLS
•Ability to incorporate a landscape maintenance plan
•Ability to lead landscape based projects
•Ability to work individually as well as with other employees and outside
contractors
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
•Ability to make basic calculations related to chemical applications and ordering
supplies and materials
•Ability to use landscape and garden related maintenance equipment and tools,
including power-driven tools; prior landscape maintenance experience
preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
•Associates degree in horticulture
•High school graduate or equivalent
•Experience with turf and landscape maintenance
