Overview: ADF International, a North American leader in the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of complex steel structures and modular construction, is seeking a Business Development Manager for our steel fabrication plant in Great Falls, Montana. The Business Development Manager is responsible for fostering and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders to ensure ADF International is informed of future project bids and opportunities. This role requires extensive client relations and networking efforts but does not involve strategic planning or managing teams.

General Expectations and Responsibilities: Client and Industry Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key industry contacts, including architects, engineers, owners, and general contractors. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market area projects and stay updated on upcoming opportunities through various publications, websites, plan exchanges, and industry conferences. Actively engage with clients and stakeholders, ensuring ADF is considered early in the bid process. Business Development: Maintain and nurture relationships with clients to ensure ADF has the "last look" bid and is a top collaborator for design-build/assist projects. Regularly attend and participate in industry networking events, conferences, and business development activities to maintain and expand ADF's market presence. Identify potential project leads and communicate them to the Estimating Department and senior management. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure potential projects align with company capabilities and goals. Bid Process Assistance: Provide the Estimating team with relevant project leads and contacts to support bid submissions, negotiation and successful project award. Gather and communicate early insights on bid opportunities, project timelines, and client expectations to provide ADF with a competitive advantage. Support tender development and perform follow-ups on active proposals.
Key Technical Skills/Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of market area projects and bid processes. Extensive industry connections with key stakeholders such as architects, engineers, general contractors, and owners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with clients and industry partners. Ability to travel for business purposes, including client meetings, conferences, and industry events. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant software for reporting and communication purposes. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize time effectively.
