Role Overview:
The Payroll Manager oversees all aspects of payroll processing across the Zeus network. This role ensures compliance, accuracy, and timeliness in payroll activities while providing leadership and exceptional service to employees. The Payroll Manager is also key in driving process improvements and collaborating across departments to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls across the Zeus network, including calculating and processing wages, salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensure the accuracy of payroll calculations, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage certified payroll reporting requirements for government contracts, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws and submission deadlines.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Review, reconcile, and approve payroll data, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Respond to escalated employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and related matters promptly and professionally.
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure seamless data integration and resolve payroll-related issues effectively.
- Generate and analyze payroll-related reports and provide strategic insights to senior management.
- Lead payroll audits and ensure timely submission of necessary documentation.
- Monitor and stay informed about payroll regulations, tax laws, and system updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Mentor and support payroll staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Manage payroll-related projects, including system upgrades, process enhancements, and special assignments, adhering to deadlines and organizational objectives.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience managing payroll operations; prior experience in a supervisory or managerial payroll role preferred.
- Expertise in payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now experience highly desirable.
- Experience with certified payroll reporting and knowledge of prevailing wage laws preferred.
- High proficiency in HRIS, ADP Workforce Now experience a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Effective leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in generating reports and presenting insights to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
- Strong relationship management and communications skills.
