Established Southern Orange County law firm seeks a motivated paralegal to join our team and help fuel our continued growth.

For over 30 years, our firm has specialized in serving as corporate and litigation counsel to homeowners associations (HOAs), community associations and condominium developments throughout California. Our extensive and varied client portfolio includes master-planned developments of thousands of homes, downtown high-rises, mixed use and commercial developments, and common interest communities of all sizes and characteristics. HOAs are everywhere and are growing in number, size and sophistication. The demand for HOA-related professional services, including legal, is increasing year-over-year and will continue to do so as housing shifts toward planned developments and condominiums.

We are searching for a paralegal who is accustomed to handling time-sensitive matters and capable of multitasking throughout the day. The candidate must possess 3+ years of experience of strong communication, writing, organization and technology skills. We pride ourselves on maintaining a fun and energetic working environment. Responsibilities:
• Performing legal research
• Identifying relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material
• Working with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions, and other case filings
• Aiding attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
• Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence briefs and appendices
• Preparing legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
• Reviewing and finalizing legal forms and documents for accuracy
• Creating and maintaining a case management database
• Preparing written reports
• Maintaining law library
• Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.)
• Performing other similar or related duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:
• Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies, or J.D., is required.
• Significant experience with law and motion (demurrers, motions for summary judgment, special motions to strike, discovery motions), discovery (drafting forms, redacting, production), deposition (preparing notices, subpoenas, scheduling), and trial related work (jury instructions, evidence, trial book, etc.)
• Experience with litigation calendaring
• Experience with state and appellate court filings in multiple jurisdictions
• Experience with real estate law preferred
• Experience in billing, customer service, accounting, or other related fields
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Must be detail orientated

Supplemental Pay:

Monthly Bonus Program for hours billed in a month (85-115 hours)
