Position Summary:
The Director of Human Resources (HR) provides leadership and guidance to the organization's HR operations. The Director of HR is responsible for performing advanced, specialized, and administrative duties in all areas of human resources. This position is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic human resources goals.

The Director of Human Resources (HR) provides leadership and guidance to the organization's HR operations. The Director of HR is responsible for performing advanced, specialized, and administrative duties in all areas of human resources. This position is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic human resources goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
- Provide leadership and supervision to HR staff tasked with benefit administration and payroll.
- Actively strives to brand the organization as one of the best places to work.
- Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
- Oversee the design and implementation of all health and welfare and 401k plans. Complete annual testing and IRS reporting for Company management approval. Review utilization of plans and make recommendations for changes in carriers and providers. Facilitate annual employee benefits open enrollment and insurance renewal process.
- Provides guidance and leadership for staff development.
- Champion employee engagement programs and strategies.
- Oversee payroll system administration and provide oversight to payroll processing.
- Maintain human resource information systems and data management.
- Assists with resolution of human resources, compensation, benefits questions, concerns, issues, and grievances.
- Effectively plan and manage the organization's recruitment process and strategy.
- Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
- Monitor unemployment claims and handle any appeals.
- Oversee workers' compensation insurance and employee safety program.
- Review, draft, recommend, and administer the implementation of new or revised Company human resource policies, procedures, including updating the employee handbook.
- Participates in professional development, networking events, job fairs and social media.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- At least five years of human resources management experience, with strategic talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
- Supervisory experience; recruiting, hiring, and developing human resource staff.
- HR Certification strongly preferred.
