Manager, Media Planning & Buying

Rawle Murdy, a Buffalo Groupe company, is looking for an experienced manager to plan online and offline advertising media and to lead the integrated media/connection strategy for assigned client business. The Media Planning & Buying Manager drives strategy via a proactive understanding of client business and a deep understanding of how people consume content. The Manager is responsible for maintaining key relationships and working collaboratively with other department leaders and teams (account management, public relations, social media, creative, production, etc.) The Manager is expected to bring media buying and delivery innovation and proactive thinking to clients and to lead the implementation of tools, processes and people needed to successfully execute paid media advertising strategies.

The Media Planning & Buying Manager will lead paid media strategy across offline and digital media channels, and play a key role in growing the paid media advertising team and services within Buffalo Groupe.

Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Responsible for the planning, buying, strategic direction and implementation of paid media advertising campaigns, including programmatic and offline media buying
  • Actively involved with day-to-day media planning and buying responsibilities
  • Identifies necessary media deliverables and is accountable for performance
  • Provides strategic analysis of paid media advertising plans to determine impact and overall outcome on all measurable variables (e.g., impressions, cost per action,, lifts in brand attributes, site traffic/conversions, etc.)
  • Maintains good working relationships with all vendors / partners and is the key negotiator representing the client's interest in sensitive situations when any arise


Management:

  • Maintains overall control of work-flow and assigned team responsibilities; oversees the progress of all paid media advertising campaigns
  • Actively involved on a daily basis to assure timely launch and optimization of all paid media advertising campaigns
  • Maintains quality control of all paid media advertising campaigns and ensures that campaigns are produced completely and correctly
  • Defines and implements processes as necessary to aid in timely and flawless execution of paid media advertising campaigns


Communication:

  • Seeks opportunities to improve paid media advertising plans through collaboration with all partners (internal and external)
  • Takes ownership of client relationships
  • Works with Account Management, Creative, Social Media, and Delivery teams to be sure all necessary information, marketing and advertising direction are acquired that could influence media planning
  • Assists in new business development


Development:

  • Responsible for training, developing and motivating team members
  • Drives team productivity and growth by aligning team member skills sets and passions with business challenges, and by managing overall workflow
  • Regularly provides insights and updates about the paid media advertising industry for the agency


Client Performance:

  • Determines appropriate and key agency and client deliverables
  • Leads the development of analytics plans and processes related to paid media advertising, including researching and recommending platform(s)
  • Works with account management team to determine success measures/KPIs and optimization strategies/models

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in marketing, advertising, communications or business
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in media planning and buying, including programmatic advertising platforms
  • Proven work experience as a Media Planner or similar role
  • Leadership, management and development of a team
  • Past work experience in an integrated agency environment preferred
  • Experience with budget planning and KPIs
